04-17-2009 Friday Questions

In a section of your notes which will be submitted for a grade, put the heading Into Thin Air in the center and make sure to date all of your entries above the entry on the left. There will be questions on the blog which are to be answered either in class or out of class, based on how much reading is accomplished in class. Pay attention to these blog posts as they will be your update.

Chapter Two

After Sikhdar's discovery in 1852, how many lives were lost? How many expeditions were there? In what year was Everest first summited?

What two countries border Mt. Everest?

Who is Mallory? (pg 17)

What happened to Mallory and Irvine?

Who was the first person to summit Mt. Everest?

Why was Queen Elizabeth happy? Explain the significance.
